What is Out of School Care?
Out of School Care (www.outofschoolcare.co.uk) allows you to book a summer camp or holiday club place for your child(ren).
We have over 200 summer camps and holiday club providers currently live on the website. If there's a local camp you would like to be able to use, please email newsite@outofschoolcare.co.uk and we'll contact them on your behalf.

Why would I need to use the service?
Whether it's a last minute panic booking or a pre-emptive solution booked well in advance, we provide the choices parents need. You can be confident that your child is in the best possible hands. There is currently no other comparable service in the UK.

How does the service work?
First you need register. Our form is detailed, but easy to complete and contains all the relevant information on your child(ren). This ensures the club you book has all of the details they need. You only need to register once at the start of the service.
Once your registration is complete, you can book. We strongly recommend that you take the time to register prior to needing the service - this allows you time to investigate the different options available to you so you feel comfortable with the camps.

How can I be assured of the quality of the providers?
We currently only work with the major providers and those that are regulated by either Ofsted or BAHA and have received a "satisfactory" rating.

What's the latest time I can book for that day?
You can book a place as late as half an hour before the camp or provider opens, as long as there is availability. In some cases we will ask you to phone us to check availability. The providers work to strict ratios - as bookings come in, it is likely that if the booking is for the same day or week, we will ask you to phone us and we will process the booking for you. We recommend booking ahead of time.

How do I know that the camp has all the information they need?
Whilst developing the registration form Out of School Care worked very closely with a number of leading providers, the NCMA, SCMA, BAHA and Ofsted to ensure all the correct information is collected. The provider you book will receive this information.
Even so, if there is time before the booking commences, the relevant provider will take the time answer any questions you might have and gather any further information about your child you deem relevant.

What if my child needs specific medication?
All information regarding illnesses and medication should be recorded in the relevant sections on the registration form. This information is passed on to the provider as soon as you've booked. We do recommend that you talk through your child's requirements prior to booking.

What if my child has a problem settling in?
All of the providers involved in Out of School Care are highly trained and experienced. If, in their professional opinion, your child isn't settling in they will contact you and arrange pick up arrangements.

What are the daily rates?
Prices for a kids day camp space will vary greatly depending on the area in which you live. A day's booking can vary between as little as £20 and as much as £50. On average the cost of a day at a kids camp is between £20 and £30 per day, but generally the cost is reduced the more days you book at the same site during the same week. Many camps offer optional extras. Please check these before proceeding with the booking.

Are there any additional costs?
In order to continue providing a quality service, we do add a 5% fee to bookings. Our booking fee will be applied to the whole booking and shown clearly at the confirmation stage.

What if I need to cancel my booking?
To cancel your booking, please contact the team on help@myfamilycare.co.uk or call 0845 676 7699.
If you cancel within 5 working days, you will be charged 50% of the booking fee, up to £250. In order to obtain a full refund, you need to cancel your booking with at least 5 working days' notice.

Is my payment secure?
Your payment is absolutely secure. We do not save card details, so you will need to re-enter them each time you make a booking. You will be able to use the same card as a previous nursery booking - the information is processed by our payment gateway Protx, and we do not store the card details. Please visit www.protx.com for more details. My Family Care sites are PCI Compliant and our certificate can be shown on request.
